Opera to invest $100m in African digital economy

In a statement, the company said it would  use the investment to speed up internet adoption in Africa and strengthen the internet ecosystem with local partners, noting that the continent is on its way to transform itself into digital continent with the rapid adoption of mobile internet. FG Pledges Payment of N59bn Electricity Debt Owed By MDAs

The Federal Government has indicated its readiness to commence payment of all verified bills owed electricity distribution companies in the country for electricity supplied to federal ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, based on the on-going audit of the bills submitted by the electricity firms. The government's decision is a fresh boost in liquidity in Nigeria's power sector and is coming on the heels of the N701 billion guarantee for the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, NBET. The Event Show, an annual gathering of events management professionals in the Niger-Delta and Nigeria at large, would this year focus on training of practitioners and other intending players to improve their skills in service delivery.
