Internet Business Showcase Debuts…gets NCC Endorsement

The country’s leading business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) strategic publicity and events management firm, Private Media Mart Limited has announced the repackaging of its annual Cyber Café Expo as the annual Internet Business Showcase. The event, which will be coming up on the 11th of May 2010 in Lagos, was originally conceptualized as the antidote to the seeming short-life span of majority of cyber businesses in the country and had been held annually for three (3) years in Lagos before now.

With its new identity as the Internet Business Showcase, the organizers of the event represented by the Managing Partner of Private Media Mart Limited Mr. Ejiofor Agada stated that the idea behind the change was to reflect the reality of the internet environment. According to him, “this event is meant to serve as the needed boost for the nascent Internet Business environment and sundry solutions in Nigeria today”. He explained further that the Internet Business Showcase is Nigeria’s only dedicated internet business event with Seminar and Presentations aimed at bringing together Big, Medium and Small businesses, all eager to find new ways of accessing and doing legitimate internet business.

Unlike the previous vision of using the Cyber Café Expo to serve as a bridge for both the Cyber Solution providers, the Cyber Café operators and potential investors, the new Internet Business Showcase however is meant to be the key to the future of the 21st Century, and that is why the firm intends to conduct an Internet business/technology forum for the players in the internet industry including ISPs, Telecommunication companies, Cyber Café operators, E-business solution providers, and individuals with the target audience compromising everyone involved with online and digital business. With others from board level executives, down to implementation teams, Senior Executives, Owners, CEOs, General Managers, Finance Directors, Information Managers, CIOs, Technology Managers, Cyber café operators, Students and independent cyber entrepreneurs (existing and prospecting).

In appreciating the scope and vision of the event, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has also endorsed the event with the purpose of using it to encourage internet penetration, appreciation and usage among Nigerians. NCC, through its spokesman Mr. Reuben Muoka, "NCC will always support all efforts being made to encourage the penetration and adoption of the Internet culture among Nigerians, and that is why we see the Internet Business Showcase as a classic example of how to indoctrinate Nigerian SMEs and individuals on the opportunities offered by the Internet today for all their endeavors'.

According to Mr. Agada, “the partnership with NCC is a strategic one because we felt that the telecom regulator has the same vision as we have when we conceptualized the Internet Business Showcase, and we believe that the support we are receiving from them will make the event to reach its ultimate goal of encouraging the internet content culture in Nigeria”. This year’s edition is also in collaboration with Knowledge Media International, publishers of IT Edge Magazine with Tribe Media, Newswatch Magazine, and NewswireNigeria(R) as media partners.
