Mike Cansfield Joins IDC as Associate Vice President, Telecoms, EMEA




International Data Corporation, the world's leading  provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology markets  has announced the appointment of Mike Cansfield to the position of associate vice president, Telecoms Consulting, Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA). 
In this role, Cansfield will support and work closely with IDC EMEA's Telecoms and Networking research team led by Eric Owen.


"Mike Cansfield comes to IDC with a with a fantastic track record in telecoms research and his arrival is another indicator of IDC's strategic focus on building our ICT consulting and advisory offerings in Europe," said Martin Canning, group vice president, European Consulting, IDC EMEA. 


"He is very well known and widely respected, and his knowledge and understanding of the telecoms industry and the challenges that industry is facing will further strengthen IDC's ability to support our clients in this area."


Cansfield comes to IDC with a very strong background in telecoms consulting and research, having previously held a senior position in telecoms at Forrester, and led the Telecom Strategy Practice at Ovum. Before that, he held various positions in international marketing and business development at BT.
Cansfield holds an MBA specialising in marketing, an international master's degree in management, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
