Celtel Nigeria Limited has introduced N50 recharge card option to the Nigerian market, the lowest recharge option today.

The Marketing Director, Celtel, Mr. Norman Moyo, said the firm was also additionally introducing a N100 recharge denomination into the market. In a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, Moyo said the new N100 recharge denomination would be available in both physical and electronic forms (as recharge cards and e-vouchers) while the N50 denomination would be available in electronic form only for now.

Celtel also has lowered the entry level of GSM services by reducing the price of its SIM card from N300 to N200. The new price further lowers the threshold for the acquisition of mobile lines by intending GSM subscribers. In addition to this, all new activations still receive the bonus airtime of N100 on first recharge.

Moyo said the move is aimed at giving more Nigerians the opportunity to get on the network and enjoy Celtel unique service offering including a world class customer care service.
The firm also introduced a Marketing Promotion designed to make Nigerians millionaires every week for three months. The Promo tagged “Win Your Dream” will commence on November 2, 2006 and run through February 2007. Win Your Dream Promo is open to both prepaid and post paid customers.

The firm said 10 lucky winners will get N15 million worth of the Big Dream packages while another 300 winners will be rewarded with Mini Dream packages worth N250, 000 each. 100 winners will get N5000 free monthly airtime for 1 year, while several hundreds of thousands of the Promo participants will win many other consolation prizes including free air time.

Moyo said customers who recharge their phones with N1000 and above during the Promo duration will get 10 per cent instant bonus Airtime as well as two entries into the draws for the week.

The Marketing Director explained that the new lines will come with Celtel’s array of free offerings such as free voicemail retrieval, access to 24 toll-free customer care service, free validity enquiries, subscription-free conference calling service, 24-hour emergency medical care services (V199) upon registration and free “Call Me Back”.
