eTranzact links Covenant University to global financial network

Mutichannel payment solutions provider, eTranzact, has linked Covenant University to the global financial system by installing all the payment options available on its platform at the University. This platform enables eTranzact cardholders to cash money at the newly installed Automated Teller Machine, even if they were from other countries and their account denominated in currencies other than the Naira. The ATM is powered by eTranzact Global payment platform, enabling cardholders to access the ATM and other services available at the University.

The firm informed our correspondent that a formal ceremony had already been held to declare the ATM open last week.
CEO of eTranzact, Mr. Valentine Obi, said the use of cards for payment for goods and services reduces the need for holding cash, enabling parents and other cardholders to keep track of their expenses, and reduce incidences of theft. “What we are witnessing here is the inauguration of a device that will enable cardholders do online transactions, which has no barrier to usage, and is readily available to everybody. Carrying less cash because of the availability of an easy access to the ATM is advantageous to everybody in the university community and to visitors as well.”

Covenant University is the first beneficiary of eTranzact’s digitalization drive that is currently being undertaken by many tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The other services available to cardholders are payments for goods at point of sale terminals, and payment for services rendered to students and visitors alike at both the University and Canaanland, where Covenant University is located.

Professor Aize Obayon, Vice Chancellor of Covenant University commended eTranzact’s pioneering role in providing schools with more efficient means of payments, and particularly commended eTranzact’s projects at Covenant University. “We are trying to speed up the international nature of this institution. In this endeavour, there are basic facilities we must put in place. This ATM is a resort for those that need cash for petty things, or when they are going out of the campus, because all transactions here are carried out using eTranzact cards.”

“The eTranzact payment solutions are designed to ease payments for individuals and corporate organisations, incorporating the best technological offerings and secure platform to ensure security and convenience. We are very proud of our association with Covenant University, and that the institution has deployed this platform, which is one of the most advanced means of payment worldwide,” said Mr. Obi.
