Chams to deploy 2,500 access service terminal kiosks the nation

, Chams Nigeria PLC will soon deploy about 2,500 access service terminal in all the 774 local governments in the Nigeria, with a focus on states capitals.
The firm explained that this was in order to ensure that Information Communication and Technology services were readily available to many Nigerians, especially, people living in the rural areas, front liner in card based transaction business
This product, which is first of its kind if successfully deployed would allow people across the nation no matter where you are located to have access to telephone, internet access, multimedia e-mail, recharge card vending, e-Visa, e-premium, information portal, fees/bill payment, airline ticketing and reservation, advertisement, online booking and many more.
The hardware which is a perfect balance processes communication and technology, according to Demola Aladekomo, Managing Director, Chams Nigeria PLC during the unveiling of the new product in the just concluded card expo held in Lagos last week will go a long way in solving the problem of digital divide between the rural dwellers and urban centers which has remained unabated.
“This is a first from Chams. Our target is all the 774 local government in the next one year. The new product has state of-art-technology has the capability to support transactional cardbased services, e-commerce, web-browsing, and e-mail. It is rigorously tested, easily serviced and utilizing the latest in computing and network technologies” Demola who has great passion for e-commerce told the capacity audience in attendance.
The Marketing Manager of Chams, ....earlier in his address told the gatherings who were excited about the new technology that the introduction of this production was informed by the fact that CHAMS sees an extensive network of well located public kiosks as an important part of present administration’s effort to bring IT to everyone.
“With kiosks in public places, PCs in libraries and community centres, schools, Airports and shopping malls we aim to provide easy online access to all. Today, some 75% of households still do not have PCs at home. The convenience offered by a pervasive network of kiosks, much like our ATM network, cannot be under-estimated. And, these kiosks are capable of delivering a whole host of new and exciting services” he explained.
While commending their Canadian partners for aligning with the vision of the company, he noted that Chams has finally come to stay in e-business in Nageia, adding that the company has the capacity support Nigerian e-commerce businesses.
For the vast majority of businesses that conduct businesses on the Internet, he assured that some of their major concerns have been borne of the need to improve in many areas including; Market Presence, Customer proximity, Customer loyalty, Service quality, Profits, Cheaper delivery, Channels, Elaborate processes, Iniitial Start-up & Operating Costs, Adapting to Changing, Business needs, among others.
